Mr P., available exclusively from online men’s style destination MR PORTER, is pleased to debut its new season collection showcasing responsible materials and the integration of Digital ID technology across select styles.
Encompassing more than 200 pieces across ready-to-wear, accessories and footwear, the collection is inspired by the modernist aesthetic of American artists such as Group f/64, including Messrs Ansel Adams and Edward Weston, who revolutionised American photography. With nature preservation at the centre of the movement, this ethos is reflected through incorporating an increased range of organic and responsible materials in the collection. Drawing inspiration from the work of artists in the early 20th century, such as Ms Georgia O’Keeffe and Mr Josef and Ms Anni Albers, the collection’s colour palette combines harmonising pastels and rich hues across suede jackets and knitwear.
Highlights this season include an expanded range of responsibly sourced, Leather Working Group-certified leather outerwear with shearling trimmed suede bombers, chunky shearling fleeces and suede trucker jackets available in various colourways alongside cashmere-blend loungewear sets and organic cotton sweats, driven by the emergence of work-from-home culture. Following on from the success of the Eco Edition Biomaterial VEGEA Larry Sneakers, this season key footwear styles are reinvented using regenerated Re-Suede by Evolo® and rubber soles made from 30 per cent recycled rubber. Styles include the classic Larry sneakers, available in three colourways including brown and navy or brown with speckled soles, the dark brown suede-panelled sneakers and the Shearling Lined Chukka Boots.
Reinforcing the brand’s mantra of “designed with promise and crafted without compromise”, this season Mr P. further strengthens its long-term efforts to drive circularity and improve transparency by leveraging Digital ID technology.
For the first time, every ready-to-wear item in the latest collection has been embedded with a unique Digital ID that can record an item’s history as it moves through its life cycle. The development follows strong customer interest in MR PORTER’s pilot Digital ID program in partnership with New York-based technology firm, EON, which showed customers returning on average three times to engage with the unique content and services within previous Mr P. collections. By simply scanning the QR code embedded in their garment, customers are able to unlock insight into the design and provenance, styling tips and access to care and repair recommendations and services. The aim is to engage customers with details of where a product has come from and how to keep it in use for longer to enhance a garment’s versatility, longevity and value. The Digital ID also leverages the Circular Product Data Protocol, a sustainable protocol developed by EON, which ensures products and material information can be accessed by resellers, recyclers and other stakeholders across the item’s lifecycle.
Quality, craftsmanship and stylish design are at the heart of what we do with Mr P. so, we are delighted to be able to offer the winter collection with more responsible materials and the expansion of Digital ID technology, which provides our customers the opportunity to engage with products in a deeper and more meaningful way. Now one of MR PORTER’s top 10 brands, Mr P. continues to offer pieces that empower our customers to explore their own style, without sacrificing on manufacturing excellence. This is part of our ongoing commitment to ensure Mr P. is designed for sustainability and circularity by 2025.
