Alison Loehnis, President of NET-A-PORTER, and Jessica & Jerry Seinfeld hosted this year’s Summer Dinner to benefit the GOOD+ Foundation.
This year’s Summer Dinner annualizes NET-A-PORTER’s greater partnership with the GOOD+ Foundation for the second year in a row. A large component of the partnership includes the annual donation drive led by NET-A-PORTER that allows their Premier same-day delivery customers in the greater New York area to donate new or gently used children’s clothing to GOOD+ Foundation from the comfort of their home.
This year, NET-A-PORTER strategically timed the drive to align with not only a key “spring cleaning” season in May, but also with Mother’s Day. The rain cleared just in time for the Summer Dinner guests to enjoy specialty cocktails and locally-sourced food, such as mini East End lobster rolls and a seasonal vegetable salad with farm stand tomatoes and burrata. The festive night concluded with dancing in the barn and a special DJ performance by Harley Viera Newton.
Founded in 2001 by Jessica Seinfeld, GOOD+ Foundation is a national nonprofit organization that addresses multi-generational poverty by pairing donations of critically needed goods – including cribs, strollers and diapers – with transformational services to help low-income parents create an upward trajectory for their children. Several years ago the organization expanded its efforts to help address one of the root causes of family poverty: father absence. Through this work, GOOD+ Foundation gives non-custodial and low-income dads the tools they need to be active co-parents to their children, while they work toward reaching goals like getting a high school equivalency certificate, opening a savings account or finding stable employment. GOOD+ Foundation has offices/warehouses in NYC and LA and strategically distributes over $6 Million worth of goods each year. For more information visit: www.goodplusfoundation.org
