We aspire to foster a culture in which our colleagues, customers and partners feel valued, respected, and welcomed.
Guided by the commitments set within the People Positive pillar of Infinity, our sustainability strategy, we want to build a more inclusive world for our business, industry and beyond.
Gender Equality in Tech
Our DEI journey has been particularly focused on accelerating gender equality in technology, a sector where women are traditionally underrepresented. We began by increasing technology accessibility and education for young people, especially women, with digital training projects that have provided coding classes to over 10,000 children. Meanwhile, our Women’s Network is amongst our longest-standing and most active Employee Resource Groups (ERGs), and is focused on creating an environment of empowerment, equality, advancement, and community within the workplace.
Today, women represent 65% of YOOX NET-A-PORTER employees, over half of our senior leadership team and 30% of our technology team*.
We are committed to supporting our colleagues and ensuring their voices are recognised and amplified.
In addition to our growing number of ERGs, our Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Council facilitates a safe and open environment for dialogue between colleagues and leaders, including our CEO. This allows the Council to influence greater change across all levels of the business.
We want our people to bring their authentic selves to work.
In addition to our ongoing learning opportunities, all YOOX NET-A-PORTER senior leadership team members and people managers complete a mandatory live workshop focused on inclusive leadership, to better understand how an inclusive culture supports people in fulfilling their potential.
A bespoke Unconscious Bias training has been designed with the active collaboration of our ERGs, continuing our journey from Unconscious Bias to Conscious Inclusion.
We also recognise the power of our employees, whose passion and knowledge play a crucial part in our efforts to drive positive change. To support our local communities, our company-wide volunteering policy enables everyone in our global workforce to dedicate two paid volunteering days per year.
We want to support in driving positive change in the fashion industry and ensure that our values and actions as a company reflect the world we envision.
Across YOOX NET-A-PORTER’s editorial, social and commercial channels, we feature models from diverse backgrounds and celebrate the work of BIPOC designers, brand founders, activists, and other creative industry talent as part of our Responsible Marketing Policy.
Our buyers across YOOX NET-A-PORTER are continuously working to amplify BIPOC-owned brands and are committed to supporting the best new design talents. Through our flagship talent programmes – YOOX NET-A-PORTER’s The Modern Artisan, NET-A-PORTER’s The Vanguard and MR PORTER’s FUTURES – we strive to diversify and support the next generation as they embark on their careers in the luxury and fashion industry.
